Who we are
MarketScope Nigeria is an independent market-intelligence and review platform focused on Nigeria. We help investors, entrepreneurs, SMEs, students and everyday consumers understand Nigerian markets, stocks, investment products, businesses and marketing services — in plain language, without hype.
What we do
- Market information: NGX indices, stock prices and history, market breadth and sector performance — always labelled with its source and timestamp.
- Investment research: plain-language profiles of investment product structures (funds, treasury bills, bonds, platforms) with pros, cons and risks.
- Business & marketing directories: organised company and marketing-service listings with community reviews and transparent editorial scoring.
- Tools: free financial calculators that run only on the numbers you enter.
- Education: guides and analysis that explain how Nigerian markets actually work.
What we do not do
- We are not a licensed broker or investment adviser, and we never give personalised financial advice or "buy this now" recommendations.
- We do not execute trades, transfers or payments of any kind.
- We never publish invented market figures. Where we have no sourced data we say “Data currently unavailable” — and during this build phase, all figures are clearly labelled as demonstration data.
How we make money
The platform is designed to be funded by clearly-labelled advertising, affiliate partnerships and (later) sponsored listings and premium research. Three rules apply without exception:
- Label everything: ads, affiliate links and sponsored placements are always identified as such.
- Compensation never buys a rating: our editorial scores use a published, weighted methodology shown in full on every review.
- Disclosure is configurable but never optional: the disclosure text appears with every review.
Editorial standards
Community reviews are moderated before publication — nothing appears automatically. We correct errors when we make them, and we would rather show a blank than a guess. If you spot something wrong, tell us and we will fix or explain it.
